Lush & Seductive… incredibly long lasting!
Velvet Opium by PUREAMOR is a gorgeous interpretation inspired by YSL’s Black Opium and honestly, it blew me away. From the moment I sprayed it, I was met with a vibrant, juicy burst of pear, pink pepper and orange blossom that felt fresh and feminine. But what truly surprised me was how deep and sensual it became on my skin. The heart and base notes are where this fragrance really shines.The bitter almond and licorice give the coffee and jasmine a dark, velvety edge that feels rich and addictive. And the dry down? Absolutely stunning. The vanilla, patchouli, cedar and cashmere wood create a warm, opulent finish that lingers for hours. This actually lasted roughly 12 hours on my skin, which never happens for me with most perfumes.I felt undeniably sensual wearing this. It’s confident, feminine and bold, without being overpowering. For the price and size, this perfume is an incredible value and it doesn’t feel “cheap” at all. The travel-friendly bottle is sleek and practical, and I love that it sprays rather than rolls on.I’ve tried other dupes before, but this one really stood out to me. If you love musky, slightly sweet and sexy perfumes with great staying power, Velvet Opium is definitely worth trying. It made me feel magnetic.

Often Complimented
You would be hard pressed to find a scent this good at this price point. I am often complimented when I wear it. A little goes a long way, and I find it really lasts. I like it so much, I will spray it on right after a shower and then rub it in with some coconut oil (helps it last longer). Feminine, night time scent. Obviously, scent is very personal and it will mix differently with everyone’s body chemistry, but this has been a winner for me!

Heavy Scent Lasts a Long Time
I like the idea of the phermone perfume, but this scent was not for me as I’ve been wearing Terry Mugler Angel for 2 decades. This perfume scent was very heavy, none of which fit my style even though it imitates a YSL scent. I’m more of a vanilla, citrus and bergamot girl.After 1 spray on my wrists, I waited 1/2 an hour to smell the layer now in the perfume. After deciding it wasn’t for me, I attempted to scrub it off 6 times with:1. body soap in the shower, then2. dish soap–all with a rough body scrub glove, but the perfume wouldn’t come off my wrists!So, if you’re wondering about the lasting power of the perfume, it’s excellent. But this just made me smell like a grandmother and not sexy feeling at all, despite containing phermones. When I had my brother and father smell my wrist, they said it smelled generic. I’m exchanging this one for the regular vanilla perfume instead.I gave this 4 stars instead of less because the company is based in the states with a great company story and the scent lasted very long. Hopefully the vanilla will be compatible with my regular T.M. Angel. or simple-scented enough that I can wear it alone. I like that this company has several scents to choose from but it took some digging on Amazon to find the more simple scents they have available.

I feel like I have spent thousands of dollars on perfumes that smell good in the store but not once I got home or smelled good the first week and then I couldn’t smell it anymore or smelled great but 4 hours later you couldn’t tell I had put any on. And then I come across this perfume because an airline attendant who reached over to give me my beverage smelled absolutely wonderful and told me to try this perfume. She said she puts it on at 6 o’clock in the morning and by 6 o’clock that evening, she is still getting compliments, which is true because I was on a later flight. I get tons of compliments. It lasts all day. It’s the perfect travel size for your purse and you cannot beat the cost! The smell is perfect. Reminds me of black opium, but not as strong smelling but definitely lasts longer.

Just Okay at Best
This smells okay, but doesn’t last long at all on skin. I took off a star for that. I took off another star because there are no pheromones in it according to the packaging. I don’t really care about it, but I do care that they advertised it and didn’t deliver on it.It was packaged well and doesn’t leak, but I wouldn’t waste my money on more. I feel like I get the same quaility product for my preteen daughter at the dollar tree.

Takes a while to “blend in” with your skin…
Though the scent is pleasant once it “warms up” and “blends” in with your skin, at first it has a “plasticy” scent to it. Then, later it changes to a warm vanilla-y, earthy, very slight floral scent. Not a bad thing, but takes a while. It does not overpower like some perfumes do, but lasts quite a while – it is quite effective when it comes to wearability. I could still smell it on my skin the next morning after putting it on the night before! It’s also nice that the travel size comes in a spray bottle vs. a roll on, making it easier to apply.

Not my personal choice but scents are subjective.Overall I recommend this brand. I want to try them all!

Blind bought this (which I normally don’t do) after reading the stellar reviews. I’ve been looking for a scrumptious skin scent, something lingering, intoxicating, close to the skin. And while I don’t tend toward gourmands, this really felt like a safe bet- Now, for the folks who live/love this, you’re not wrong! It delivers, on every level, save one. I was first disappointed in myself, for not realizing it was a “dupe” for a classic perfume (I was focused on the notes). But second, I felt let down by the generic nature of it. To me, it’s dated, has that “whatever it is” ingredient that makes commercial perfumes smell like they’re related by blood, not marriage. Well hey, more for you guys!

I was so hesitant to buy this – I’ve never really worn perfume but wanted something nice for my wedding. Was worried about buying something without smelling it first, but the reviews were amazing and I’m not disappointed at all!!It started out a little strong but leveled out after ten minutes or so. Had it on all morning, went to the park, ran around, and it still has a really nice smell that isn’t overwhelming.I got the black bottle – not totally sure how to describe it but it almost smells vanilla-y with a hint of amber and it smells expensive. I absolutely love it!
